President Obama Currently Stuck In Beltway Traffic
STERLING, Va. — According to reports from his own motorcade, President Barack Obama is currently sitting in standstill traffic on Interstate 66 in northern Virginia.
“This is unbelievable. I thought we fixed this mess over the past few years with the added HOV lanes?” remarked Obama in a recent tweet. Obama is reportedly en route from Washington Dulles Airport to the White House after a recent trip to New York.
The Washington Metropolitan area is known for having some of the worst traffic congestion in the nation, including six of the ten worst bottleneck points in the country. Interstate expansion projects have been underway since 2007, but many, including our commander-in-chief, still fall victim to the area’s infamous rush hour.
President Obama remains determined to continue his suggested GPS Navigation route home, despite the worsening traffic conditions. “Ugh, I’m going to be late to dinner with Michelle now.” he later tweeted. “We had reservations at Clyde’s near Capitol Hill but there’s no way we’ll make it in time.”
