Regency Square Mall Re-Launching with 16 Saxon Shoes, 44 Body Shops, 70 Yankee Candles
RICHMOND, Va. — The management team at Regency Square Mall has just announced its plan to revamp the mall with a wave of brand new stores.
The mall, which opened in 1975, has seen a steady decline of sales over the past decade.
“Business has been really slow lately, and we just needed a change to boost customer volume,” Martin Schuler, Regency Square general manager, said. “We crunched the numbers and discovered certain stores brought in more foot traffic than others.”
The management team reported that the most popular stores were Yankee Candle, the Body Shop, and Saxon Shoes. “It was only logical to build more of these stores,” Schuler explained. “And since there will be multiple locations for each store, one of them will be sure to have any item in stock that customers might need. Even Amazon can’t make that kind of guarantee.”
The Regency Square Mall construction team plans to complete the stores by late fall, in time for the Christmas season.
“This is kind of our last-ditch effort to avoid becoming like Cloverleaf Mall,” Schuler said.
