Spotsylvania Voted “Best Place to Drive Past” Fifth Year in a Row

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. For the fifth consecutive year, Spotsylvania County claimed victory today in the Virginia Tourism Board’s (VTB) annual “Best Place to Drive Past” contest.

The winner was revealed by Amanda Conrad, a representative from the VTB, on the group’s Facebook page. “Spotsylvania is the prime example of a place with absolutely nothing interesting going for it and should therefore be avoided,” Conrad described. “The county features the most mundane scenery, never-ending farmland, and a couple of massive gas stations that no one would even consider for a fuel stop. A recent survey also showed that in the past year only three drivers stopped in Spotsylvania willfully.”

She did note, however, that nearly every county along the I-95 and I-85 corridors through Southern Virginia collectively came in a close second.

Get your butt off I-95 and you’ll find some of the most beautiful countryside in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I have traveled all 50 states and I’ve never seen much of anything along an interstate that was overwhelmingly beautiful. I’m a native of Spotsylvania County by the way!

  2. Well then keep on driving past our beautiful county spotsylvania and go back were you came from we don’t need you here anyway that’s why it’s still not littered up with garbage or congested with people who wouldn’t know beauty if it hit them in the face.

  3. And that’s what makes it so GREAT! Spotsy is absolutely beautiful with a peaceful laid back lifestyle reminiscent of a time lost in other parts of the country. I hope we are honored next year, and many years after that too ~ “Drive right Past”!
