New Voice-Activated “Dave Brat Grill” Only Recognizes Voices of White Men

HENRICO, Va. — Rep. Dave Brat may represent the 7th District of Virginia, but he’s now also representing new innovations in compact grills.

Similar to the beloved, bestselling Foreman Grill, Brat’s new “Town Hall Grill” responds to voice commands by the user. The catch? The grill only responds to the voices of white male users.

“I got so tired of women up in my grill, so I decided to make one that didn’t have to listen to them,” Brat said. “The Town Hall Grill won’t take sass from any of these uppity women. Grilling is a man’s past time, just like politics.”

Brat was the subject of controversy after announcing at a January meeting in Hanover Tavern, “Since Obamacare and these issues have come up, the women are in my grill no matter where I go … They come up — ‘When is your next town hall?’ And believe me, it’s not to give positive input.”

After a public backlash, Brat amended his initial comments and made a partial apology. But he refuses to apologize for his quality grill.

“The best part about my Town Hall Grill is that no one except for men with my vision — er, for food of course — can have an input,” Brat said.

This feature doesn’t necessarily limit the grill’s responsive capabilities, though. Men whose voices are acknowledged by the grill can instruct it to become operable for female users. “It’s definitely not sexist; anyone can use it to serve up a sirloin. The gals just need the guy’s permission, like always. No big deal.”

The grill comes in white or chrome and only cooks steak well-done as a way to protect the meat’s fragile ego from criticism. At the time of reporting, Brat was seen showcasing the grill at a BBQ held for his conservative male peers.
